Talia D. Tomasin, PA-C, is a nationally board-certified Physician Assistant with advanced training across a broad spectrum of medical specialties and a focused passion for neurologic care. She joins Ocean Neurology as a trusted clinical extension of Dr. Mindy Bixby’s osteopathic vision: to treat the whole person — not just the condition — through education, empowerment, and individualized care.
Talia holds a Master of Medical Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Chapman University and earned her undergraduate degree from San Diego State University, graduating Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a minor in Cognitive and Behavioral Psychology. Her rigorous academic background is matched by diverse hands-on clinical experience, including rotations in emergency medicine, internal medicine (both inpatient and outpatient), psychiatry, orthopedics, ICU, pediatrics, and women’s health.
Talia's path to medicine was shaped by both personal and professional influences — including mentorship from her uncle, an orthopedic trauma surgeon, and her own lived experience managing chronic migraine. These experiences have fostered a unique sensitivity to the patient perspective, particularly in managing complex neurological conditions that affect daily function and quality of life.
Before entering graduate training, Talia worked in urgent care and behavioral health settings as a clinical medical assistant and psychiatric medical scribe. She also served vulnerable populations through community health outreach and international volunteer work with underserved communities in Kenya.
Known for her clinical acumen, compassionate demeanor, and dedication to lifelong learning, Talia was carefully selected by Dr. Bixby for her alignment with the core values of Ocean Neurology: evidence-based care, patient-centered collaboration, and a commitment to advancing outcomes in movement disorders, migraine, and neuropsychiatric health.
